GALVANIZED ANGLE Spec Sheet
SMACNA requires reinforced ductwork on certain sizes and water pressures. A contractor can use Galvanized Angle to do this by putting it around all four sizes of the duct and attaching it by welding or pop-rivets. When duct has TDC or Ductmate flange on the ends the angle is placed on the outside of duct in the center. The 2” x 2” x ¼” angle is used by some contractors under the duct when it is hung with threaded rod coming down from ceiling and attached to the angle on each end. Some Shops are making duct with Ductmate flange and then wrapping 1-1/2” x 1-1/2” x 1/8” angle around the duct in the center and Pop-Riveting it to the duct.
