ACRYLUME
Spec Sheet
Acrylume is Galvalume steel with an acrylic coating on top. The acrylic coating provides protection from fingerprints and other oils during the handling, fabrication and installation of the metal. Acrylume - because of the acrylic coating - should not be painted; it should be left bare. Conklin stocks 24 Ga. 48" acrylume coils and sheets from U S Steel.

ALUMINUM
Spec Sheet
"Aluminum is an excellent metal for general sheet metal work where only moderate strength but superior corrosion resistance is required. The terminology for the thickness of aluminum sheets does not use a Gauge number – like Galvanized or other carbon steel – it is instead requested by its’ actual decimal thickness in inches. The primary application of aluminum sheets is flashing, gutters, downspouts and ductwork. There are many grades of Aluminum; we stock Mill Finish type 3003 H14, which can be easily roll-formed and welded.

COLD ROLL
Spec Sheet
Cold Roll is Hot Roll Carbon steel that has undergone an additional “Cold Reduction” at the mill. Therefore, it is very smooth, very flat with a light oil and has straight edges. We stock 16 Ga in 48” and 60” sheets and coils. We stock 18 Ga and 20 Ga in 48” x 120” sheets. Typical applications include fire dampers, kitchen exhaust and grease duct.

COPPER
Spec Sheet
Copper is an excellent metal for general sheet metal work where longevity and appearance are important. Its’ natural beauty and workability is unsurpassed among architectural metals. We stock a cold roll temper in sheets that is perfect for any type of roofing application. It has a bright, shiny finish that will weather through various stages of warm tones – a signature characteristic of copper. The most common thickness is 16 oz. which designates to the weight per square foot of the material.

GALVALUME
Spec Sheet
Galvalume Steel is carbon steel coated with an aluminum-zinc alloy. The typical composition of the coating is 55% aluminum and 45% zinc. Galvalume combines the excellent barrier protection of aluminum with the galvanic protection of zinc to attain high performance corrosion resistance. Under typical corrosive conditions, the coating generally will last much longer then a Galvanized coating of comparable thickness. Galvalume will maintain its bright appearance and reflectivity in long-term service at temperatures up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. It will outperform aluminum coated sheet coated by providing galvanic protection to the steel substrate at cut edges or scratches. Typical applications include roofing, pre-engineered metal buildings, air conditioning equipment, automotive body parts, home appliances and outdoor signs. We stock this product in 24 Gauge and 26 Gauge 48” wide sheets and coils. This material is ordered with no oil and a coating weight of AZ-55. The forming and welding qualities of Galvalume are comparable to that of Galvanized; however, the soldering techniques used for aluminum should be used for soldering Galvalume. Galvalume steel can also be readily painted but has excellent corrosion resistance if left unpainted.

GALVANIZED
Spec Sheet
Galvanized steel is cold rolled carbon steel with zinc coating on both sides. This is commercial quality "CS Type B". The purpose of the zinc (galvanized) coating is to protect the base steel from rust and deterioration. The primary uses are heating and air conditioning ducts, roof flashing, gutters, downspouts and most any sheet metal application. We stock sheets and coils in various gauges and widths. Our galvanized metal conforms to ASTM specifications A653 (which denotes Lockforming quality) and A924 (which denotes hot dipped).

GALVANNEAL
Spec Sheet
Galvanneal is carbon steel coated with zinc/iron alloy on both sides. The zinc/iron alloy allows for easy paint adherence and welds easier than galvanized metal. Runs thru lockforming machines with greater ease than paintgrip/bondierized metal. Conklin stocks 24 Ga. and 22 Ga. in both 48" and 60" wide.

PAINTGRIP
Spec Sheet
Paintgrip steel is G-90 Galvanized steel with an additional coating of Phosphate. Paintgrip is sometimes call “Phosphatized” or “Bonderized”. The zinc coating provides excellent corrosion resistance and the phosphate allows for better paint adherence by “etching” the zinc surface (zinc coatings inherently provide poor paint adherence until the zinc has been exposed to the weather for over a year). Paintgrip metal has a dull gray finish as opposed to the shiny galvanized finish. Applications includes gutters, downspouts, flashings and signs. We stock in 48” sheets and coils in 18 ga thru 26 Ga purchased from US Steel and AK Steel.
