Slips and Drives

The standard means of connecting two assembled rectangular duct sections end to end is the Flat S Lock and Drive Cleat. The Flat S is used on the bottom and top of duct (the long side) and the Drive Cleat is used on the left and right sides (the short side).

Drive Cleat

Drive-CleatUsed on the narrow sides of transverse duct connections of rectangular ductwork. Slide over the hemmed edges of the joints and secure the two pieces of duct. Used in small duct applications and low pressure. Also used in conjunction with Flat "S" Cleats or Standing "S" Cleats mounted on the long side of the joints.
