Silicone Sealant—Ideal for many applications….unless it’s to be Painted

Silicone is supposed to last forever, but don’t use it on an application that will be painted. Conklin stocks in four colors. In sequence of popularity they are: Clear, Aluminum, Red (high temp, but not fire stop), and White.

 

These grille tap were caulked with Duro Dyne aluminum colored Silicone. However, the customer did not realize silicone does not hold paint
