1) Refrigeration Access Valve. When this knurled cap is unscrewed, there is a screw thread inside of it that allows for screw on refrigeration hoses to evacuate refrigerant from that part of the circuit.
2) Valve, which can be turned with a wrench to open or close the flow of refrigerant to the unit and isolate that unit while the rest of the system remains in operation.
