Refrigerant HFO Replacement for R-404A
R-448A is a next-generation solution for R-22, R-507, R-404A, and R-407A in low- and medium- temperature refrigeration systems. R-448A has comparable performance to R-22 and higher energy efficiency than R-404A. The refrigerant is a near drop-in replacement for R-404A with similar operating pressure, oil type, and equipment compatibility. R-448A also has significantly less global warming potential (GWP 1,386) compared to R-22 (GWP 1,810) and R-404A (GWP 3,922). As it uses POE oil, R-448A requires an oil change when retrofitting into R-22 systems.
