Liner Sizer

From the LS Liner Sizer...

LS Model uses a non Grooved bar that the Circular saw travels along. It’s the grooved gear driven bar on an LSU that allows the blade to spin continuously.
Models built 30 years ago still running like a charm as long as the shop remembers to replace blades every few years; but, it’s inability to cut Elastomeric Liner and a clean cut edge on 2” Fiberglass Liner has many shops replacing it with the new LSU version.

To the LSU Liner Sizer...

Several years ago Duro Dyne redesigned their popular 5 ft Manual Cut Liner Sizer as it became evident that closed cell Elastomeric Liner and other non Fiberglass products like Ductmate’s Polyarmor were materials that their LS couldn’t cut. Duro Dyne’s redesign was centered around two changes: the addition of a grooved bar and a gear to spin the blade at a continuous rotation.

By getting the Circular Blades to Spin while cutting, the power is greatly increased similar in the way a Circular Saw might cut with more than power than a Pizza Cutter. The Cross Cut Blade and Slitter Blade are both mechanically gear driven to spin while cutting. Another benefit of this increased cutting power is cleaner cuts on 1-1/2” and 2” Fiberglass Duct Liner than shops have been used to with the LS model.

Cross cutting involves using the handle (A) and pulling that circular blade (B) across the Liner. The Handle rotates 360 degrees to move out of the way when not in use. The Slitting assembly is comprised of the Handle (C) and Blade (D) that moves continuously because of the addition of Gear Driven bar (E) [vs a flat bar on the LS Model] allows to cut materials like Polyarmor (F) that the LS cannot. The rotation of the Crank handle (G) allows the Liner to be fed quickly thru the machine. The Quick Release Lever (H) is attached to the upper roller to apply pressure so that the Liner Feeds properly.

An unintended benefit of the LSU Liner Sizer is a Feeder to a Vicon Liner Cutting Table. Used in this this way it serves as a Liner “decoiler”.
