If you have a chance to see just one area of a commercial job, try and make that area the Mechanical Room. It never has a ceiling, which means the duct is exposed and it has more space for the duct designer to work with.
It’s the area where the larger blowers are located, which means you’ll see more canvas connections used to isolate vibrations, reinforcements like External Angle for bracing or internal tie rods, heavier transverse connections like Ductmate, Duct Liner for acoustics and thermals, Duct Sealant on the duct wall penetrations, and usually large Square to round transitions, radius elbows and fittings that often wind around looking almost like a piece of art when captured in a picture.
