Trumpf TF350 Clinching Tool

Clinching as an alternative to Drill Screws for connecting Ductmate Frame to the duct wall

Ever considered the sharp points of screws as a handling risk but also as objects in the airstream that accumulate lent and residue over time?

Most of the time Ductmate 35 Flange is connected to Ductwork by using Drill Screws

With #3 Die, Clinches Stainless Duct to Stainless Ductmate Flange…

Attaching Stainless Ductmate to the Stainless sheet ductwork is a frustrating task. Stainless is a hard metal and almost impossible to use Self Drilling screws without losing the point on penetration. The Contractor drills a hole and then uses a Stainless screw to attach : it’s very labor intensive. A Clinch is a SMACNA approved means of connecting the Sleeve of the Ductmate and the Ductwork. Since it’s clinching instead of penetrating, the guys on the jobsite don’t have to worry about getting cut by the sharp screw ends they would typically be avoiding

Note: Comes standard with 2+ ( ideal for Galvanized Ductmate) or 3 Die. Please specify when ordering.

Sharp screw points pose danger risk in handling, especially on 4 piece duct sections shown here

Then we’ve got a solution for you…

Using the same tool, users can load different dies for different applications…

#2 die for AccuFlange connection to Spiral wall

#2+ die for Galvanized Ductmate Flange connecting to the ductwork.

#3 die for Stainless Ductmate Flange connecting to the ductwork.

The Clinching segments are the 2 pieces with the rubber band and are the only parts of this Die that come into significant contact with the metal; thus the only components that are consumables. Clinching three thicknesses of Galvanized at max capacity, factory estimates 100,000 hits before segments need replaced. These segments, part #53881, are interchangeable with each die.
Die SizeCapacity
#1.031-.059
#2.062-.079
#2+.083-.098
#3.122-.138

(capacity is thickness of all pieces combined)

According to Trumpf’s specs, the #2+ will not work on .068 but the #2 will work well:

ECONOflange and AccuFlange 18 ga (.045) + Spiral pipe 24 ga (.023) = .068

Used as an alternative to screws when attaching the two 20 ga Galvanized legs of the Ductmate slide on Frame to the Duct wall in between.
TR350 Trumpf Clinching Tool weighs approximately 17 lbs and is used as an alternative to screws when attaching the two 20 ga Galvanized legs of the Ductmate slide on Frame to the Duct wall in between.
When used with the 2 + die, the Clinch holds perfectly without puncturing through the 3 pieces. The connection is so strong that it cannot be pulled apart; the only 100% leakproof method of fastening this connection; maximum capacity on all sheets combined cannot exceed 10 gauge (.125)

When used with the 3 Die, the TR350 clinches Stainless Steel Ductmate Flange—a major labor and material savings for the contractor.

If throat depth of 2-1/2” suffices , put the 350 on a stand and you have a cost saving alternative to a free standing Clinching Machine

Optional pedestal stand for the TF350 Clinching Tool

Stationary Punch Head

Stationary Punch Head allows operator to get flush up to workpiece and Clinch, something that would not be possible otherwise because the pivot screw gets in way. Ideal for Large Standing Seam connection on Segmented Fittings
