A notching machine is much faster & less expensive than using hand tools especially when working with large volumes of work. Consistent notches compared to hand cut. Also, limited skill is needed to make notches. Once the gauge is set to your required notch size, the material is held against the gauges and the handle is pulled down until the metal is cut.
